PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College women’s soccer sophomores, Thaea Mouratidis (Scarborough, Canada), Ella McBride (Peterborough, Canada), and freshman Kayla Briggs (Toronto, Canada) have qualified for the 2024 FIFA Under-20 World Cup with Canada Soccer’s Under-20 Women’s National Team Camp.
Mouratidis, a midfielder, started 19 of the Friars’ 20 games this past season. She tallied six points on one goal and four assists. She played a total of 1,713 minutes and was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week (9/4).
McBride, a forward, started 17 of the Friars’ 20 games. She finished the season with one goal and played a total of 1,541 minutes.
Briggs, a forward, started 13 of the 14 games she suited up for. She finished fourth on the team in points, with nine on two goals and five assists. Her five assists on the season were a team-high. She was named to the BIG EAST All-Second Team, BIG EAST Freshman of the Week twice (8/21 and 9/4) and BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week once (10/16).
