Biography
Philip Parsons was raised in Leaside. He played hockey at Leaside Gardens throughout his school years, and as an adult, for many seasons coached both Leaside Hockey House League and Select teams, and Leaside Soccer House League.
Phil has been involved in croquet for over 35 years – promoting, recruiting, organizing, teaching, charity fund raising and competing and has served on the board of directors of Croquet Canada. Over the past four years Phil has competed in tournaments in Florida, where he had 2 first place finishes. In 2018 Phil became the Canadian Open Champion for USCA Rules Croquet – a four-day tournament with competitors from the US, Mexico and Canada. In February 2019 Phil represented Canada in Portugal in a five country tournament where he placed second.
Phil and his wife have, for many years, hosted an annual charity croquet tournament in Leaside and have raised over $26,000 for various charities.
