Biography

Sam Brown is a lifelong resident of Leaside and graduate of Leaside High School. Sam, now 21, has played for Leaside Baseball since he was 9 years of age. Currently he plays for the 22U (Junior) team as well as for the University of Guelph Gryphons of the OUA.

Over the past two years while playing for the Leaside Baseball 22U team, Sam batted .455 with 19 Home Runs. In both years Sam was picked up by the Ontario representatives to the National 22U Championship, capturing a bronze medal in 2023 and a silver medal in 2024.

While playing for Guelph University’s Gryphons over the past 3 years, he has batted .347 with 10 Home runs and 79 RBI’s in 60 games. Last year his Guelph Gryphons team played in the Canadian University Championship. Sam received the President’s Trophy as Male Student- Athlete of the year.

On both the Guelph Gryphons and Leaside Baseball teams he has been outstanding defensively at shortstop or third base.

Sam has been renowned as a respected player throughout his career, never missing a game or practice and leading by example with sportsmanship and respect.
