Biography
In 2019, Brian Periku was 18 years of age, had recently graduated from Leaside High, and was studying Engineering at Waterloo.
In 2016, while at High School, Brian started training as a weightlifter and competed successfully at both the Provincial and National levels. In late October 2018, he placed 2nd provincially in the 73 kg weight class, then in January 2019 he placed 4th at the Junior Nationals. He then went on to compete in the men’s senior (20+) age category and place 4th provincially and 7th nationally. During this time Brian maintained an excellent academic record and was involved in numerous volunteer activities.
