We are dedicated to celebrating and promoting excellence in sport from the Leaside community in Toronto.
The Leaside Sports Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating and promoting excellence in sport at the recreational, competitive and elite levels in/from the Leaside community in Toronto, Canada.
We aim to foster a community where participation in recreational and competitive sport is valued, and where the achievements of athletes and the contributions of volunteers are recognized and honoured.
Founded in Leaside’s Centennial Year
The Leaside Sports Hall of Fame was founded in 2013 – Leaside’s centennial year. The organization is sponsored by the East York Foundation and is supported by the community’s many sports clubs and local leaders.

Our Founding Organizations
East York Foundation
The East York Foundation—the sponsoring charity of the Leaside Sports Hall of fame—was established in 1964 with a mission to contribute to the historical, cultural and recreational enrichment of the people of the former Borough of East York, which includes the communities of Leaside and East York.
Leaside Memorial Community Gardens
Leaside Memorial Community Gardens opened its doors in 1951 and has been a focal point of the local community ever since. It’s a place where everyone can come together to play hockey, figure skate, swim, curl, and socialize. It is also home to the Leaside Sports Hall of Fame Gallery.
Leaside Baseball Association
Established in 1946, the Leaside Baseball Association provides opportunities for players to develop their skills and passion for baseball by offering quality instruction and programming.
Leaside Curling Club
Founded in 1963, the Leaside Curling Club is a not-for-profit organization run in partnership with the City of Toronto. It is currently Ontario’s largest curling club.
Leaside-East Toronto Soccer Club
Founded in 1975, the Leaside-East Toronto Soccer Club (LSC) organizes soccer house leagues for children and adults.
Leaside Hockey Association
The Leaside Hockey Association (LHA) is a non-profit organization that strives to provide safe, recreational and competitive hockey programs for youth in the community. The LHA was founded in 1952 and is currently, one of the largest minor hockey associations in Canada.
Leaside Lawn Bowling Club
The Leaside Lawn Bowling Club officially opened in 1953. Their mission includes “promoting the Club as a place where fun, friendship and camaraderie are fostered”.
Leaside Skating Club
Founded in 1952, the Leaside Skating Club is a non-profit organization sanctioned by Skate Canada and dedicated to teaching the joys and skills of skating to people of all ages.
Leaside Tennis Club
Founded in 1948, the Leaside Tennis Club is an active community tennis club located at Trace Manes Park (previously known as Millwood Park).
Toronto Leaside Girls Hockey Association
The Toronto Leaside Girls Hockey Association was founded in 1974 and provides residents of the Greater Toronto Area with exceptional female hockey programming. With over 1600 participants, the TLGHA is one of Ontario’s largest hockey associations for women and girls.
